Melissa Johnson
Melissa Johnson is the sponsor of the Alpha Beta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi as of the Fall of 2022. She is the Director of Athletic Bands at Butler University and therefore is in charge of both the Butler University Marching Band (BUMB) and Butler University Basketball Band (BUBB). Professor Johnson started at Butler as the Graduate Assistant for the Athletic Bands in 2018 while earning her Master’s of Music in Conducting. She is loved by her students (and our chapter!) for her emphasis on positive band culture and self-care in addition to leading kick-butt ensembles! A couple of fun facts about Professor Johnson are that she has a twin brother and once ate Wendy’s in a green room with Jack Stamp!

Benjamin Rohn
President
Benjamin is a Master of Professional Accounting Candidate at Butler. He plays trombone in the Butler University Marching and Basketball bands. After serving as our Chapter President last year, he is again serving for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. Benjamin looks forward to continuing the great service to our bands that our Chapter is known for and growing together as a chapter through our service and brotherhood.
John Dunn
Vice President of Membership
John is a senior studying marketing and entrepreneurship at Butler University. He plays trombone in the Butler University Marching and Basketball bands. John looks forward to the marching band shows, because he thinks they seem super fun!
Emma Richards
Vice President of Programs
Emma is a senior studying sociology at Butler University. She plays percussion in the Wind and Percussion Ensembles. Emma looks forward to presenting new events, growing our existing events, and strengthening our brotherhood.
Seth Wilson
Treasurer
Seth is a junior studying computer science and data science at Butler University. He plays trombone in the Butler University Marching and Basketball bands. Seth is looking forward to planning and executing some awesome fundraising events this coming year for the chapter!
Emily Magalski
Secretary
Emily is a sophomore studying Biology at Butler University. She plays clarinet and saxophone in the Butler University Marching and Basketball bands. Emily looks forward to getting to know everyone better and supporting the bands!
Meet Sunny!
Our Unofficial Mascot
Meet Sunny! This wonderful amalgamation of fluff and dreams is the unofficial mascot of the Alpha Beta chapter. Why you may ask? Because sunny is A Bee… A B… AB. It’s a pun and we love it. The Brothers of Kappa Kappa Psi believe that staying positive is critical to our success as musicians and as people, so fun things like Sunny help us to remember that being positive and having fun in life is crucial to betterment of the self.
